This repository includes a description of the files needed to replicate the findings reported in 'Talking Politics on Social Media' by Rolf Fredheim and Alfred Moore --README.txt --anon.Rdata Rdata file containing deidentified commenting data needed to reproduce main figures and findings reported in the paper. --reproduction.py script used to identify reason-giving, agreement, disagreement, and insults. This script requires Python 2, version 2.5 or higher, and the modules codecs, ner, pyenchant, re, and urllib2. --suppMat.Rmd: R markdown file used to generate the supplementary materials. It includes examples of comments identified as positive matches, as well as the code necessary to recreate figures, statistical tests, etc. This script requires the following packages: data.table, ggthemes, ggplot2, gridExtra, knitr, Rmisc, and scales. The supplementary materials were compiled through Rstudio 0.99.484 on a computer running Ubuntu 14.04 with a full installation of TeX and Pandoc.
