Expedition Reports - Gino Watkins Fund

The Gino Watkins Memorial Fund, under the joint trusteeship of the University of Cambridge and the Royal Geographical Society, gives grants towards expeditions that meet its objectives of guiding and inspiring enterprising young people towards scientific research and exploration in the polar regions. The Fund was set up in 1933 in the memory of Henry George ("Gino") Watkins who had drowned, whilst kayaking, off the coast of East Greenland.

The Fund provides approval and grants in aid to well-conceived polar expeditions. Each year the Fund helps appropriate expeditions to visit Greenland, other high Arctic lands and Antarctica. More information on the Gino Watkins Fund can be found on the SPRI webpages.

This collection contains reports for those expeditions sponsored by the fund. Some reports are also held in the Institute's Library.
